Some people are just. . .

My friend Alissa invited me to a concert last night for the St. Jude's Foundation. I was super pumped.

And I will make an announcement right now: I like Country music. I grew up listening to it and I have never quit really. I grew up listening to the greats: Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, George Jones, Kris Kristopherson, Alabama, etc. I have even gotten other people to listen to Country music. I've listened as Country music turned from Blue Grass with a little Rock to downright Pop music. Yes I'm talking to you Taylor Swift and Faith Hill. Anywho. . .

The benefit had Jack Ingram, Keith Anderson, Jessica Andrews, and the great Randy Owens, lead singer for Alabama.

It opened with Jack Ingram and Keith Anderson sitting on stage together, each taking turns singing one of their songs and chatting. It was really cool.

Then Randy Owens and Jessica Andrews came out. This is where things got weird. Keith Anderson and Jack Ingram are pretty equal in their talents and hits. Randy Owens has been a legend in the music business for 40 years. Jessica Andrews has had one #1 hit and is like 26. There is no comparison here people. Jessica is a great singer but really she should have been up singing every other song with Keith And Jack. Heck, even they have had more hits than she has and have been in the music biz a lot longer.

Randy Owens started playing his song first and then Jessica made a comment when he looked at her to banter and start playing she said that she could just step off the stage and watch him instead of playing. Weird. Well then Randy played his 4th song (Mountain Music) and then just was like "Goodnight Everyone!!!" Just like that. No Jessica playing one more song or anything. She didn't even play her only #1 hit. It was just done. It was the strangest ending to a concert I have ever been to. EVER.

The music is not what made the night so entertaining though. It was perhaps the 2 older couples that kept groping each other and practically having simulated sex in front of us. And as they got drunker, it got worse. And made me vomit in my mouth.

At one point in the evening, Jack Ingram was at the bar getting a drink, like 5 ft from me and Alissa and I saw this girl seriously flirting with him hard core. Almost embarrassingly flirting. He mentioned during the show he was married with children ages 2,5, and 7. Anyway, as Alissa and I were saying what poor taste that was, drunk older lady #1 from gropefest came up and grabbed his arm and then other drunk older lady #2 from gropefest #2 came up and they wanted a picture with him. So drunk older guy #1 took a picture on his phone of them. This really pissed off the girl that was throwing herself on him. Anyway, you could tell that Jack was feeling very awkward around the drunk gals, and he kind of made an exit. Except about the time he made the exit, I was getting up off my chair to go the bathroom and almost ran directly into him. AWKWARD. This would have been a perfect time to get a picture, but I was just soo stunned.

So when I get back from the loo, drunk older lady #1 says LOUDLY "I can't believe we just talked to AND got our picture with Keith Anderson!!!" Oh did I happen to mention that Keith Anderson and HIS ENTIRE FAMILY were sitting right behind Alissa and I. I'm pretty sure Keith himself heard it. Jack Ingram and Keith Anderson look absolutely nothing alike. Keith's arms are like the size of my leg. And I am not joking. He is ripped. I really wanted him to pick me up, throw me over his shoulders, and carry me away and play the guitar for me. I'm a sucker for a guy who can sing and play the guitar. So not only was she drunk and groping/rubbing up against and making out with her husband, she had no idea who the people were she was watching at the concert.

Anywho, Alissa and I were trying all night to figure out how to get Keith's picture since he was behind us. Take a self pic and have him in the background?!? Just stand up and turn around and take a candid?!? Most of the night he stood behind me over my head watching the show, so it would have been pretty obvious. I could have literally just turned around and grabbed his leg through the railing. And had it been George Clooney or Jensen Ackles or Justin Timberlake. . . I probably would have. . . but I'm not an uber Keith Anderson or Jack Ingram fan, so I didn't want to look or act like a nutso. Plus it was a pretty chill concert at a small venue and most other people weren't acting like screaming fans, so we didn't want to be those people. Because trust me, those people stood out.

I apologize. . . for my randomness. . .

Not that I have millions of followers, but that I have not written on here in almost a month. And that I never finished my posts that I had started. They just didn't seem right somehow. Soo. . . let me just quickly recap my life:

  • My friends Robb and Christine got married. It was awesome. I hope that some day I will find that love. On the weird side, Dean was my date. I didn't have a choice in it seeing as Christine basically told him he HAD to be my date. And I don't know why or how we go into these situations and come out looking like/acting like a couple. Christine's Mom at the end of the night told him what a great person I am and how he should never let me go. He agreed.

  • I went and hung out with some people that I had met at a birthday party that are new to town and know my aunt. Dean came with me. He also came with me prior to that, to visit my cousin. Mac had to move literally right across the parking lot from him. I have to park right next to his place to go to hers. I called him to let him know I wasn't stalking him, nearly visiting Mac and he wanted to come with. Then that night I got asked what was up with us by my new friend and she told me she was surprised because we have so much chemistry between us. I wish I could kill her or hit her, but I just met her and thought that might be wrong. And her boyfriend asked me the same thing and then proceeded to tell me how great I am and that any guy would be lucky to have me.

  • The next weekend we went to my friend Alissa's Bday. Dan sits down next to me at one point and says he heard that Dean and I were dating. And I remind Dan, seeing as he is one of my closest friends, I'm pretty sure he would have been told this information already if it was true

  • Perhaps Dean and I should not hang out 3 times a week. It's getting a little bit ridiculous. We really didn't hang out the last 2 weeks though. Okay, granted, I've been gone or he's been working the whole weekend, but. . .nonetheless. . . And friends go car shopping with other friends, it's normal. And they call to ask if they can put you down as a reference for a loan. It's normal.

  • I am watching Dirty Dancing right now and can't tell you why I love this movie so much. But. I. Do.

  • Kattie and I went to watch 17 Again on Friday. And now I have a bit of a dilemma. I love Zac Efron. I am seriously contemplating renting all 3 High School Musicals. He's hot. And can act. I didn't think he could. But he could. And man. . . Zac Efron. I think I'm turning into a cougar. . . is that possible?!?

  • My friend Josie turned 30 last weekend. And for some reason, I keep crying every time I think about it. I saw the preview for My Sister's Keeper and started bawling. In a preview. Then today in the paper there was a story about a girl who has hormonal cancer that was diagnosed when she was 9. It usually only happens to women in their 40s. They don't think she'll live past 30. Bawled. Like a baby. She's only 19 and a freshmen in college. She's living life day to day. And doesn't know whether to fall in love and let her friends know. I just want Josie to be better. I want her to be there for my wedding, for the birth of my first child. She's supposed to. I hate that we don't know what's going to happen. In a way, it's almost easier to get over the grief when it happens and not deal with the grief of the unknown. I don't know.

  • My cousin D$ had a beautiful baby girl, Mya and I saw her this weekend. She is just too adorable and tiny. I can't wait to see her again. Congrats D$ and Nate!!!!

  • I can't get over the whole Craig's List Killer thing. That guy is a whack job. And was in medical school. I can't believe his fiancee says that he was completely normal.

  • Also I am scared about the Serial Killer in New Mexico. They keep finding all these bodies. I guess this means I did a good thing by not going into prostituting seeing as these are the women that they keep finding are brutally murdered. But still it's scary.

  • Oh and did I mention when travelling to San Diego a couple of weeks ago I ran into this guy?!?

If you're wondering. . .yes that's George Clooney and yes. . .I was less than 5 ft from him. I didn't even realize it at first. He was filming for one of his movies In the Air at the St Louis Airport. I wish I could have gotten my picture taken with him. He's just as gorgeous in person as you would think he was. And I kept shaking and couldn't control myself. I was in hysterics because of him. He's also 5'7" or maybe 5'8" and a little smaller than you would expect. But still he's gorgeous and remains in my top 5. :)

That's all I got folks!!!

Creativity 101

I saw this and had to post it.

It almost reminds me of the guy that lived near my grandparents who had so many OWIs that he had a permanent breathalyzer installed into his car. Every time he got into his car to drive, he had to blow into the breathalyzer in order for the car to start. If he had any alcohol in his system, the car wouldn't start. And instead of say, not drinking and driving, he filled up balloons when he was sober and used those to start the car. I think the cops found out though. . .

What is wrong with some people?!?

PLANT CITY, Fla. - A 2-month-old is back in the arms of her parents and the wife of a top Pittsburgh Pirates minor league prospect is suspected of taking the infant from a health clinic outside Tampa, authorities said Tuesday.
Amalia Tabata Pereira, 43, was being questioned by Florida detectives in Manatee County, where the girl was found unharmed Tuesday afternoon, a day after she was taken from the clinic. Plant City Chief of Police Bill McDaniel said authorities are looking to charge Pereira with false imprisonment.
She is the wife of Jose Tabata, 20, an outfielder and one of the top three prospects for the Pirates, who train in Bradenton, which is in the county where the infant was found. In a statement, Pirates president Frank Coonelly said they have received “no indication that Jose is believed to have had any involvement in this matter.”

You can read the rest of this here.

I can't figure out how on earth a 20-year-old hot* baseball player married a 43-year-old apparent crazy woman. I guess you don't always recognize 'crazy' until it's too late.

*I'm just assuming he's hot because he plays baseball. Okay I guess not all professional baseball players have pretty faces and are hot. Just nice to look at in baseball pants.

Sorry. . . I didn't get on that. . .

Finishing my blogs I had started I mean! Sheesh dirty minded people! Which is kind of funny because one of them is almost about that. . . .

Anyway, to somewhat tide you over, is something that I realized terrifies me still after almost 19 years. Worms. I almost stepped on one walking from my meeting, and it just made me shutter.

Why on earth would worms scare me soo much?!?

I guess it's not so much that they terrify me, but more so that they creep me the eff out. I used to be able to take the worm and put it on my own hook when I would go fishing. But not now.

Let me set the scene. It's 5th grade. It had rained during the morning, and we were outside for noon recess. Some boys thought it would be funny to throw worms at the girls. HILARIOUS boys. Hilarious. They get yelled at so they stopped, and we all have to line up to go back inside.

Then my friend Jenny says "Hey is there something in my hair?" I quickly glance and am like "No. Nothing." And she says "Are you sure??" So I start to peel through her hair, and there it is. The worm. It had wormed it's way so to speak into the tanglements of her hair and close to her scalp. I am not joking. I did what any other girl would do: I screamed, threw it out of hair, and kept yelling "EWWWWWW."

I am nothing but always cool, calm, and collected.

Since then, I still always shutter every time I see a worm. I even dissected I don't know how many worms in school. And I enjoyed it. I don't know why. Maybe it's because in some way I am inflecting pain on the worm that caused me so much emotional distress. Who knows?!?

I have a beef. . .

With Arby's. . . (get it?!? Beef?!? Hello?!? Anyone?!?)

Anyway. . . what's up with their advertising their Roast Beef Sandwiches now as Roast Burgers? I don't get it. And I'm pretty sure I don't like it.

I think it has something to do with taking the name BEEF out of it. Or something. Am I not really eating 100% beef now?

Like when McDonald's said the chicken nuggets were now 100% made with real chicken meat. It scared me. Really. I loved chicken nuggets. And sometimes I still eat them. . . when I'm drunk.

I do have like a billion posts I have started and haven't subsequently finished. I will get on that. Really.

Words cannot describe. . .

I was reading this about Chris Brown and Rihanna. And well. . . I will never listen to another Chris Brown album or his songs ever again, no matter how much I love the song "No Air" with Jordan Sparks. I will now listen the country version by whoever sings it. Is it whomever or whoever in this instance??

I am deeply, deeply disturbed by Chris Brown now. While I feel violence between any parties is never the answer, I sort of had heard things that she was hitting him so I thought maybe he did it in self defense and got a little out of control. Which is no excuse either way, but I do have a friend who used to get smacked/kicked by an ex-girlfriend. While he never hit her back, he did say the thought often crossed his mind to at least defend himself and hit her back.

However, after reading that he started to hit her after she saw a text from another woman?? She SHOULD have been hitting your arse. And you should have taken it if you were indeed cheating on her.

Okay. . . that's my two cents. . . or ten cents. . . whatever. . .
